As I do my final edits on this post, the Christmas Countdown Clock says there are 126 days, 15 hours, 12 minutes, and 17 seconds before Christmas. Seems like plenty of time, doesn’t it? For years I’ve been vocal in bemoaning early holiday advertising, marketing, and displays. Isn’t there a law that you can’t promote Christmas until Black Friday, or at least after Halloween? And yet I find myself promoting Christmas merchandise in August — for good reason. We all have so much to do during the Christmas season, don’t we? It’s easy to lose track of time as the holidays approach, because, as we all know, we had plenty of time, to order  the Businesses Christmas cards … until we didn’t.

Stuff comes up. Life and business get in the way, and before you know it, it’s December 18th, and you have no cards to send to your clients. So, what do you do? Go to the friendly-mart and purchase boxes of generic cards? Try to order some online? And how will you get them in the mail? Maybe you could just send holiday emails. Sure, that’s what you can do. No one will think that’s a bit creepy, will they? Or you can learn from this and order your business holiday cards next year in August before the holiday rush.

This is a Holiday Public Service Announcement

Have you ever waited too long to order cards for your business? Have you scavenged through the discount bins looking for a card you could—tolerate? Did you ever send holiday cards that arrived after New Year’s? Avoid these holiday card traps and taboos. There’s enough to do at that time of year. Mark procuring cards off your Christmas to-do list before the holiday rush. It’s time to order cards… now.
